Ronald L. Lindsay, MD, Joins Angel Kids Pediatrics as a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician

Jacksonville, FL, April 9, 2019.  Angel Kids Pediatrics is pleased to announce that Dr. Ron Lindsay has joined their practice as a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician. He will be seeing patients at the Pediatric Center of Excellence, located 13241 Bartram Park Blvd, Unit 1209, Jacksonville FL 32258.

Ronald L. Lindsay, MD has over a quarter-century of experience as a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician and has devoted his career to serving children in underserved populations and/or diagnoses. He received national recognition for Research, Teaching, Health Care Delivery, and Program Development.  In Research, he was the lead Pediatrician in the Research Units of Pediatric Psychopharmacology Autism Network with the National Institutes for Mental Health (NIMH) on studies of risperidone and methylphenidate in treating disruptive behaviors in children with autism.  In Teaching, he wrote the grant application for, and then Directed the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program at The Ohio State University.  In Health Care Delivery the 2003 Ambulatory Pediatric Association Health Care Delivery Award. The Ohio Rural Developmental and Behavioral Clinic Initiative; brought an interdisciplinary team of professionals into 7 counties of Appalachian Ohio to provide care for children with disabilities who could not come to Columbus, OH for care.  The Surgeon General of the United States cited this program as Model Program/Creative Program in his report:  Closing the Gap, Report of the Surgeon General's Conference on Health Disparities, and Mental Retardation.  Finally, in Program Development; he created the initial plan, personnel requirements, and job descriptions for the JBLM Center for Autism Resources, Education and Services (CARES) which focused on providing patient-centered care for military children with special needs and their families at Madigan Army Medical Center, WA.
At Angel Kids Pediatrics and the Center of excellence, Dr. Lindsay will help to develop the Patient Centered Medical Home Behavioral Health Distinction. and the Pediatric Center of Excellance.  Dr. Lindsay is uniquely qualified for this role.  As a Primary Care Pediatrician in at Minot AFB, ND in the late 1980s, he created a medical home for the children of our war fighters that integrated multiple sub-specialities from other military hospitals, including developmental and behavioral pediatrics.  His efforts in improving the care of children with disabilities resulted in Dr. Lindsay receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1990.
He wrote 16 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 8 as First or Corporate author; 11 book chapters; 33 Non- Peer-Reviewed Articles, Reviews, Letters to the Editor, and Others; 24 abstracts to National Academic Meetings; and 47 invited lectures. 
Dr. Lindsay is a second-generation Air Force officer and spent his childhood around the world.  He is a graduate of Boston University and entered medical school two years early, after his Sophomore year where he was elected President of the College of Liberal Arts student government.  He is a passionate sports fan (Red Sox and Patriots) and dog lover.  He and his wife enjoy travel and photography. He has one son who is a Computer Network Administrator.
