Are you Concerned about your Child's Behavior?
What is the Behavioral Health Clinic?
The Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) is an integrated specialty clinic which
provides services to children, adolescents, and their families for developmental,
behavioral, emotional, social, and academic problems. The BHC is a cooperative
effort between your physician and psychologist at Angel Kids Pediatrics (AKP).
How is treatment conducted?
Usually, both the child and parents attend all sessions. During the first session,
parents are interviewed to determine the nature of the problem and a
potential course of treatment. Additional sessions are usually scheduled
weekly or every other week. The number of additional sessions depends
on the nature and severity of the problem, but a total of five to ten visits is common.
Will my health insurance
cover services at BHC?
Services at the BHC are covered under the mental health portion
of many insurance plans, including Medicaid. If you are not sure
about coverage, contact your insurance carrier or the benefits
office at your place of employment and ask about your coverage.
We also take self-pay patients.
How do I make an appointment
with the BHC?
You can contact the Behavioral Health Clinic by calling us at 904-224-5437 x1215
