Olivia Hernandez Gonzalez, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist at Angel Kids Pediatrics in Jacksonville, Amelia Island, and Saint Johns, Florida. She is a certified trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy specialist and certified in parent-child interaction therapy. Dr. Hernandez Gonzalez graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Florida (UNF) in Jacksonville with a Bachelor of Science in Child Psychology. She attended the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, where she obtained her Ph.D. in School Psychology.
Dr. Hernandez-Gonzalez completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at the prestigious Munroe-Meyer Institute at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. After completing her training, she relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, and joined the Angel Kids Pediatrics team. Dr. Hernandez Gonzalez has worked in hospitals, primary care clinics, and school settings. She has also received extensive training in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2). She has experience in assessing and diagnosing Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disorders, Anxiety, and Depression, among other mental health disorders in the pediatric population.
She also has extensive training in evidence-based therapy models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Dr. Hernandez-Gonzalez feels passionate about promoting integrated behavioral health in pediatric primary care, increasing access to mental health services for families of diverse backgrounds, and has been a change-maker and leader in normalizing treatment for mental health services.
Dr. Hernandez Gonzalez speaks fluent English and Spanish to better serve her patients. She enjoys spending time with her family and dog in the beautiful Florida weather.
