Ashraf Affan, MD, President & Founder of Angel Kids Pediatrics, joins Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) National Faculty of the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Jacksonville, FL, August 13, 2018 Ashraf Affan, MD, President & Founder of Angel Kids Pediatrics has been invited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to join the National Faculty of Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI). “This invitation is a recognition of Angel Kids Pediatrics’ strong commitment to transformation and improvement demonstration in clinical and utilization measures,” writes CMS.

Launched in 2016 by CMS, the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) is one of the largest federal investments uniquely designed to support clinician practices through nationwide, collaborative, and peer-based learning networks that facilitate large-scale practice transformation. The Initiative aims to support more than 140,000 clinicians in sharing, adapting and further developing their comprehensive quality improvement strategies.

As a member of the National Faculty, Dr. Affan would have a critical role in the TCPI program. The faculty are the models of transformation and the voice of the TCPI Change Package. Faculty share their own transformation experiences with the TCPI community, including with Quality Improvement Advisors and enrolled practices to demonstrate that transformation is possible and that it improves how care is delivered. Some of the roles that faculty play in the program include participating as speakers and at expert panels and TCPI pacing events, sharing their experience with QIAs and enrolled practices through PTN-led events, consulting PTNs and SANs on transformation challenges, supporting the development of high performing practices and advising on the development and refinement of key documents.

“Over the years, Angel Kids has mastered and perfected the value-based model, and our commitment to improving health outcomes to our patients has led to phenomenal results,” says Dr. Affan. “We are truly honored to have the opportunity to share our expertise in transforming healthcare through better quality and more efficient care delivery. Our Practice provides care that goes beyond the walls of the clinic and we are prepared to share our successes to help attain better patient health outcomes nationwide.”
